Interview: Get familiar with Dj Dove

We take a timeout with Dj Dove for the third instalment of our ‘Get Familiar’ Series as we shotgun some questions his way to get a peak into how inspirations, introduction to the culture and his start in the music world!

Q1. When and where did you find house music?

A1. I found house music in my local record store in my original hometown of Hoboken, NJ. It was the Todd Terry Project called ‘Bango’.

Q2. What DJ made you want to be who you are today?

A2. Well there are quite a few. 1st and foremost, there’s my mentor DJ Disciple then Erick Morillo and finally Roger Sanchez.

Q3. When was your first dj set under this moniker?

A3. 1990 at a local bar and lounge in Hoboken, NJ called Boo-Boo’s

Q4. What is your go to piece of kit?

A4. I’m a huge Pioneer equipment guy from mixers to CDJs, headphones, etc.

Q5. Wish List – What do you wish you owned that you don’t have today?

A5. An even better DJ Set up filled with Pioneer feat and bring back out my Technics 1200 turntables.
